TGI (the end of) F!

Central Time Zone
We are now WEST of the Mississippi.
We crossed the (not so) wide Missouri!

Big day today - we were up early showered packed and out by 6:38am

The Casita?  Well - it took a bit longer - it was 8:15 by the time the Casita was all ready to go.  The usual gas/wipe the dead bugs off the windshields/check the cables all went fine.  But the Casita tires were running about 5psi short - we tried the fancy digital air pump - paying $1/minute for air and couldn't get things working.  Of course - we pulled in one way and the big beverage truck pulled in the other way - 10 minutes of jousting - we finally got to pull forward -  women backing up a trailer tends to send people running for some reason -

Then we tried the portable compressor - lets just say - that didn't work either.

New station - new guys - finally got it going.  The Casita took so much longer to get ready then we did!

Rain today pulled us off the road - we took the nearest exit and BLESSED BE - there was a huge lot sponsored by the the Association of Christian Truck Drivers.  What a good ministry service idea - we certainly appreciated it!

The big scenery today - clouds - big rolling thunderheads - grays/whites/blue grays - piercing sunbeam and sky shadows of every description as the front rolled to / through and over us.  My drought driven California thirst welcomed the wet smell of rain drenched air.

The real drama of the day?  The Super 8 in O'Fallon.  Let's just say is was O so Foul -  the green indoor pool and the line of people and the dubious crowd made everything a bit queasy.  We drove further away from St Louis and found a Quality Inn more suitable to 'truckers' then - well - the other kind of business...

Tomorrow - Kansas.  I just downloaded 11 hours of audio books for us - we think we need something to help us get through.
